LegallySpanked.com recently received a copy of a legal threat by Matthew J. Wendt to IsACheater.com on behalf of Nicole Wasserman. The post at issue is http://isacheater.com/nicole-wasserman-los-gatos-california/
Here is the letter that we received:
What is puzzling is how Matthew Wendt chooses to send these requests to domain name registrars instead of contacting the websites directly. According to the letter, IsACheater.com “fails to provide any contact information of the owners of the site.” Well, it took us all of 5 seconds to find the email address for the owners of the site in the whois database. Perhaps before sending a threat to a provider, you should learn to use the whois service or maybe just understand the law regarding third party immunity.
This letter does not even present a properly formatted DMCA. So many lessons….
