Fight frivolous DMCA Notices

If you are the original author of a post or images attached to a post which were removed under a bogus DMCA notice, you have a remedy. You would need to file a DMCA counter notice. Luckily, the Chilling Effects Clearinghouse has a simple template you may use. Once you complete the template, you may send it to the website that removed the content and they will restore it. The person who filed the DMCA would need to file a lawsuit for copyright infringement in order to take things down again. You should consult a lawyer but common sense dictates that if the use is non commercial and associated with a complaint site, that lawsuit would be… pardon us… bullshit.
